Women of Impact Exhibition at AD&A Museum, July 19th – September

    Women of Impact

Most media would like us to believe that women have taken a backseat in driving cultural, social, and economic impact. In two years, impactmania featured 130 female change makers in 30 countries including ambassadors; impact investors; social entrepreneurs; National Chess Champion of Uganda; Intel’s Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer; a Nobel Peace Prize nominee; and a U.S. Presidential award winner for her work in STEM mentoring.

impactmania is an ongoing repository of interviews with some of the most innovative and dynamic global thinkers and doers (men and women) exemplifying our ability to power lasting, positive change. We are featuring these stories to ignite engagement, connect communities, and share avenues to impact.

On July 19th, 2018 —the 170th Anniversary of Seneca Falls, the first women’s rights convention in the United States— AD&A Museum, University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) will officially launch impactmania’s Women of Impact.

We will hold a panel discussion with women from the Women of Impact book, which is set in conjunction with an exhibition at AD&A Museum (UCSB), underlining the breadth and depth of women’s contributions to the planet. impactmania is in talks to bring the Women of Impact exhibition to other cities and countries.

Online registration for the event will be up shortly. Keep an eye out on social media for the latest update.

NEWTON PAIVA UNIVERSITY AND IMPACTMANIA ANNOUNCE A PARTNERSHIP TO UNCOVER IMPACT MAKERS IN BRAZIL

International Alliance to Connect People and Projects That Drive Cultural, Social, and Economic Impact

MINAIS GERAIS, BRAZIL & SANTA BARBARA, CA, USA (October 25, 2017) —

Newton Paiva University in Minas Gerais, Brazil and impactmania in California, USA, are announcing a partnership to feature the stories of people and projects that drive cultural, social, and economic impact in Brazil.

The two organizations will work together to feature entrepreneurs and their programs that impact complex societal challenges in Brazil. The impactmania and Newton Paiva University’s partnership will offer an opportunity for students, professors, and employees of Newton Paiva to develop critical skills in identifying and researching for-profit and for-purpose ventures, learn from, and share these models with the world. Their stories will be published on the global impactmania platform.

“Newton Paiva is the first educational institution in Minas Gerais’ state that supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Now, we are the only Brazilian educational institution to seal a partnership with impactmania. We hope to show the world our country’s potential in business and, at the same time, awake our academic community’s interest in this new way of entrepreneurship. We are proud of this partnership, which reinforces our commitment to build great citizens”, says João Paulo Barros Beldi, President of Newton Paiva.

From a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, a U.S. presidential award winner, social entrepreneurs, architects, and artists, impactmania profiles some of the most innovative and dynamic global thinkers and doers on our planet.

The partnership will expose ideas and tools that help grow the social enterprise community, provide additional examples of companies that work with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), and help students become familiar with models that tackle cultural, economic, environmental, and social issues. The objective is to drive cross sector, global collaboration allowing innovators to advocate for their communities while inspiring the next generation to become impact makers.

Paksy Plackis-Cheng, founder of impactmania, “We are thrilled to be working with the students, professors, and staff of Newton Paiva on demonstrating an abundance of leaders who care for our communities by applying purpose-driven solutions. Newton Paiva will be exposing their students to innovative project-based learning and becoming part of an expansive global network of impact makers who are driving inclusive economies that are socially, culturally, and environmentally aware.”

Both organizations thank mentor, philanthropist, and activist Eva Haller who had the foresight to champion the partnership. Eva Haller, “This collaboration is most meaningful. impactmania and Newton Paiva will bring to us the best and most creative in humanity. By shining light on stories of struggles and achievement we are empowered to realize our own potential.” (more…)
