The Saturday Salon

This is impactmania’s second time presenting at the Eva Haller Salon that has been meeting every Saturday since 2019/2020!

We are grateful for Eva Haller and Yoel Haller who have been supporting impactmania’s work since she initiated and ran the impactmania interdisciplinary internship program at University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB)

AI is already shaping decisions that impact all of us: from, to, even the access to and of our children and grandchildren.

What makes the information in this Saturday’s Salon different is that we’re not sharing opinions or hype. We’ll be discussing findings from three years of in-depth initiated and funded research on how AI performs in practice.

Today’s guest is Plackis-Cheng, Founder, impactmania. As part of the EU-funded FINDHR network she evaluates how AI is used in recruitment, and where it falls short.

We will learn:
– How AI quietly impacts people’s livelihood.
– The it can create, such as hidden biases or unfair treatment, and how these play out in real life.
– What steps are being taken to make AI fairer and more transparent in vs the.
Whether or not you use much, these systems are already influencing the world around you. Tuning in will give you practical insights into how AI is shaping and understanding it will give you an insight on why your (grand-)children are having a tough time applying for.

See you at the Salon!
